We’ve all seen Bryan “Bingo” Bickell, third line winger extraordinaire, future husband and over-priced Free Agent, owner of the most riveting feed on Twitter

But how much do we really know about him? Luckily, your pals here at Cheer The Anthem are on hand to make up some stuff about him. Read on for “10 Things You DIDN’T Know About Bryan Bickell”

1) Bryan is named after Canada’s Greatest Ever Pop Star, Bryan Adams. His mum was a massive fan of 1984’s Reckless album and there’s a good possibility that Bryan was conceived to the hard-rocking sounds of “Run To You” or “Summer Of 69″. Or maybe “Heaven”. Funnily enough, Bicks isn’t much of a fan of Bryan Adams, himself, preferring the smooth R&B of Drake. As he said, in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine “I’m not much of a fan of Bryan Adams, I prefer the smooth R&B of Drake”

Bickell’s folks ‘Did It’ to this, quite possibly

2) Bryan is a native of Orono, Ontario which is famous for having the most “O’s” in its name of anywhere in Ontario! . Coincidentally, Bryan loves “Spaghetti Os” and makes sure he always has some in his kitchen. “I Love Spaghetti Os and make sure I always have some in my kitchen”, he confided to Paris-Match

3) Except Toronto

4) Bryan says, in his Twitter biography, that “Fishing Is My Passion”. Once, while fishing in a river near his home, Bryan caught an enormous trout, or possibly salmon. “It was this big” he chuckled during a telephone interview with Mike Wallace, doubtless spreading his arms really wide.

5) He’s also a big fan of Pitbulls (the baby-eating dog kind, rather than the terrible rapper kind) and he and his lovely fiancee Amanda work hard to explode some of the myths surrounding these toddler-mauling hellbeasts As Bryan says “Learn the truth about Pitbulls and other dogs”, while bravely stroking one of the vicious, drooling, fanged monsters, that is probably thinking about tearing the cameraman’s throat out.

6) Bryan considers himself a connoisseur of ice-cream cones, and challenges parlours with extremely specific orders regarding gelato-density and sprinkle patterns. He’s prepared to wait until it’s prepared according to his exacting requirements, rather than eat a substandard cone.

7) Bryan loves to take part in pranks when on the road with the Blackhawks. Once, Patrick Sharp and Brent Seabrook  texted him to say that an alien mothership had fallen on his house and that the entire neighbourhood had been sealed off by shadowy government agents who were summarily executing anyone who tried to escape.  The joke was on them, however, because Bryan had left his phone on “Charge” in the bedroom. Boy, were the tables turned on them! “Boy, were the tables turned on them” said Bryan in his address to the United Nations.

8) Oh, and Woodstock. That’s got three “Os” as well.

9) Despite being 6’4″ and weighing 230lb, Bryan has one big fear: Spiders. Just the sight of one of those crawling, eight-legged nightmares is enough to make him shriek like a sissy girl and cry for Amanda to come and put it outside, using a glass and a takeaway menu. Amanda and Bryan often laugh at how funny it is that he’s so scared of something so small. As their exclusive interview with Barely Legal Teens magazine revealed, Amanda says “We often laugh at how funny it is that he’s so scared of something so small” and Bryan laughingly chimes in with “It’s true, we often laugh at how funny it is that I’m so scared of something so small”

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

10) Bryan LOVES to help out in the kitchen during Canadian Thanksgiving, which happens shortly after Canadian Halloween (June, I think?) but he actually ends up just getting in the way and has to be told to go sit in front of the TV.  As his Mum says: “Bryan loves to help in the  kitchen but actually ends up just getting in the way and has to be told to go sit in front of the TV. Amanda always says that too, that ‘Bryan loves to help in the  kitchen but actually ends up just getting in the way and has to be told to go sit in front of the TV’. We laugh about it all the time. Bryan agrees with us in the end. He says “I love to help in the kitchen but actually end up just getting in the way and have to be told to go sit in front of the TV”

So there you go, fact-fans! Not only is Bryan a force on the 3rd line for the hawks, he’s also pretty much the most exciting guy on the team.
