Hawks news first :

A lot going on at Hawks’ practice today. Joel Quenneville has decided to reunite Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews on the top line. Viktor Stalberg will ride along on the left wing. Stalberg must have died in a previous life saving a bunch of babies from a fire. He is very, very lucky.

It appears Marcus Kruger will get a shot to play with Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa on the 2nd line. You could feel the shake up coming after the 4-1 drubbing against the Coyotes. Kane has been way to quiet lately along with Hossa and Dave Bolland. Q also appears to have taken Bryan Bickell off double secret probation and is putting him back with Bolland and Michael Frolik.

A reshuffling of the deck isn’t such a horrible idea at the moment considering the way the Hawks’ played against Phoenix.  Q is saying that Kane going back to right wing will  last “for the foreseeable future.” Kane has undeniably been invisible lately, but the majority of his time in the middle has been successful. I wouldn’t give up chasing that dragon just yet.

Brent Seabrook and Dave Bolland did not practice today but will dress tomorrow against the Islanders. I think it’s safe for everyone to assume that those players are nowhere near 100%. Hopefully this is the reason Bolland has been so terrible the last few weeks.

Toews was named the NHL’s Second Star for the month of November behind Tim Thomas.

A few quick notes on the rest of the NHL.

♦ The Red Wings have surpassed the Blackhawks in the Central Divisoin.

♦ DAM : The Bruins went 12-0-1 in November. The only loss was to the Red Wings (who else?) in a shootout.

♦ Speaking of Boston – they worked out a new deal with David Krejci. Looks like an overpayment.

♦ The Ducks fired Randy Carlyle and hired Bruce Boudreau. They have also taken Bobby Ryan off the trade market. We will probably never know if Stan Bowman was even interested.

♦ Matt Walker is on Re-Entry Waivers today. Somewhere, Joel Quenneville is on his knees praying……..

♦ Mason Raymond will make his season debut for Vancouver tonight. Good news for them, bad news for everyone else.
