The Daily Phil Esposito (2/9/11)
Nine former Hawks were on ice last night in the NHL. Two points were recorded, one of each a goal and an assist. The one backstop that played picked up his second consecutive shut out which makes me sick to my stomach. There are eight games on the schedule for tonight including a big game in Detroit between the Pred’s and the Wings. That’s all I have for today, enjoy today’s Espo and stay tuned later for Tim’s Preview of tonight’s game in Edmonton.

Team scored five goals and he does not have a positive rating? Something must be wrong there…
Tim Brent – Toronto
10:23 TOI, two shots, 4 of 7 on face-offs
Sammy Pahlsson – Columbus
16:35 TOI, one goal (5), plus one, one shot, 7 of 16 on face-offs
Antti Niemi – San Jose
Win (16), 25 saves on 25 shots, 1.000 SV%
Back to back shut out for the net-minder who seems to really be starting to find the place he left off at last year. That gives him four shut outs this season and he now has won three games in a row.
Ben Eager – San Jose
13:15 TOI, one assist (9), plus one, three shots
Scott Nichol – San Jose
10:22 TOI, two shots, 8 of 14 on face-offs
