Sorry, folks – my experience with Jeff Bartl has been that he is just about spot-on with his comments. Has been since the start of the blog – which you would know if you paid any fucking attention! While he may be unusually fired up about Morin’s temporary departure, I’m inclined to agree, since Morin had a great camp. That said, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since he has proven himself in my book for quite awhile now. Morin will be back, and Jeff will calm down a bit. And, the Hawks will roll along.

I know Stalberg has replaced Campbell (or Sopel, depending on who you’re talking to) as the Hawks’ designated punching bag, and I’ll admit that I hardly caught any of the pre-season (so maybe I’d be joining in if I did) but I’m still inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to a 24-year-old who netted nine goals in half a season last year. I mean, the guy was playing with the God-awful Maple Leafs… Anyway, I’m with McClure; it’s not a big enough deal to work up any righteous indignation in my book. If Morin’s the real deal he’ll be up soon enough.

Jeremy Morin likely already has, and will at some point in the future go through bigger indignities than this.

You’re making the faulty assumption that the Hawks WILL put Campbell on LTIR – something they didn’t do last year with Marian Hossa, despite his missing the first month and a half of the season.

Secondly, your incendiary verbal wrath should be directed more at Ryan Potulny, who did even less to warrant a spot on the roster than Viktor Stalberg. Potulny didn’t even dress the last two pre-season games.

While I don’t necessarily agree with the move either, the Hawks are doing Morin a favor by doing what they did in recognizing that they couldn’t garauntee the amount of playing time he’d need for it to even be worth it to keep him here. I’m not saying that he didn’t deserve to be here ahead of some other players, but there was no guarantee that he was going to be effective against the adults come Thursday. Time is on Morin’s side, and this isn’t your 2007 Blackhawks where roster spots are given to rookies simply due to a lack of options. While it’s not MUCH experience, Viktor Stalberg and Ryan Potulny do have NHL games under there belt. Tell me, what was your favorite Jeremy Morin goal that actually counted? Thought so.

Spare me the righteous anger for an issue that actually means something, like when Dave Bolland can’t produce or the power play is fucking ridiculous all over again. You’re going to have a long, acid-refluxy year if you’ve got your panties in a twist already over THIS.
